People Say...
People say: "ignorance is bliss",
but then there are those that won't,
and it is us who will beg to differ;
always and no matter what the cost.
They are in denial.
People say: "we don't want to hear it
and those things are your secrets",
but they don't think ahead
and refuse to see that weight on our shoulders.
They put it there.
People say: "comparison is a way to strive"
but that tactic is flawed
as it has always been.
by now we'd think they'd change what they'd say.
but They haven't tried.
People say: "the grass is greener on the other side"
so they'll hand us a mask to hide behind,
falsely expecting and encouraging us
to put it on and wear it.
They want us to be someone else.
People say: "we have to fit in",
because the want us to blend
with society and its rules, dictating us
more for their self esteem than ours.
They simply spout words without meaning.
We say: "ignorance is pointless"
We say: "listening will lighten the weight"
We say: "comparison is irrelevant"
We say: " our grass is as green as we like it."
and We say: "let us decide our wants and needs"
as We Embrace our lives.
