A Jealous Wish
Time is a jealous wish in an old man's eye,
A stream with an unforgiving
current.
Life comes and goes,
But time will never die.
It shall standalone silent and content.
Children laugh and play in the golden sand,
Their footprints left behind soon washed away.
Discarded memories in the palm of time's hand,
Soon to be forgotten in their dismay.
Time shall pass and winter will come to stay,
But the relics of fall remain close by.
Soon will come the flourished flowers of May,
But someday those fragrant flowers of may will die.
