Every Thursday
When I was a little girl
my dad would sit on our living room floor
and stretch
then he’d lay on his side
in front of the T.V
and watch Survivor
When I was a little girl
I would lay with him
right in front
just far enough
that
his stomach would touch my back
every time he
inhaled
that way
I knew when I should breathe
because I wanted to be
just
like
him.
