Living Skeletons
The leaves float down,
Leaving the trees bare whispers of life,
As the wind murmurs
To them, and through them.
Strong, fragile skeletons -
Like you.
They sway in the
Pulse
Of the gentle breeze.
I watch,
As the skeletons
Swaying limb
Snaps
And crashes
To the soft ground.
Its noise
Ringing
Through my ears,
Then the sound
Seeps
Into the floor,
Of the earth,
And is lost, forever,
Taking you with it.
