Musical chaos
Fills the air.
The crunch of strings
Echo loud,
Desperate beauty
In distorted unison
With the crash of drums.
Ears ring with the silence
In between the lines,
In between the notes,
In between life and death.
We exist
Like a song
Beginning to end.
We rise and fall
Like the pulse of hymns.
But this song rolls on
And on,
And on,
Seeming to last forever
Just like our lives
In musical procession.

Inspired by my dad's ideas about how life goes on and on but ends eventually, like a song.

Great poem! The comparisons were spot-on, and your words were chosen very meticulously. The only thing I can think to say it that the use of the word "crunch" to describe strings doesn't exactly fit right. Perhaps you could say the "hum" or "reverberation of the strings?" I was also sent to ask you a question (by @SpeakerofWolves). In regards to the pieces of yours that have been published, about how long did it take after they were posted on the TI website for TI to tell you they were being published in the print magazine? Furthermore, are you able to publish them elsewhere?

Sweet similies, and how you gave the writing credit to your dad. Our lives are like a song that keeps on playing, between everything!

When I was reading this, I could picture the music running through my head.  Wonderful job! :)

Very engrossing. The beginning is somewhat like the beginning of The Iliad. The beginning is very beautiful. The imagery is alive with euphony, as well as, cacophony.
