As she walks away
You watch her go
She leaves you with
A heart of stone
Her tracks across
The frozen ground
Reminds you of what
You thought you'd found
As you fall to your knees
You start to weep
And begin to grieve
You start to ask
Why was keeping her
An impossible task
You lost your angel
Your shining light
The girl you'd love
For all your life
She may be gone
But let it be known
You'll find a new angel
As good as the old
She'll take you to places
You'd been before
And leave you waiting
Wanting more
You'll soon understand
The new is as great as the old
She'll bring you new rivers
Of shimmering gold.

This poem is about a boy who loved this girl. She left him, and I wanted him to know he'd find something better. He'd find his gold again.
