A lonely girl in a world of unknown
Trying to find herself but tends to fail
Sat and wished her heart wasn't all alone.
Unable to continuously wail,
She wanted to reach out but she couldn't.
She was just trying to be accepted;
Tried to fit in but she just wouldn't.
Her mind became corrupt and demented.
Soon she learned to value her uniqueness.
She learned to embrace her inner beauty.
Because all it took was some confidence
She took on her life with authority.
She now knows you can't love someone else
Unless you primarily love yourself.

I originally wrote this piece as a part of my English poetry project. It's about me and my continuous struggle to find confidence. I've been suffering from low self-esteem for about 8 years now and I still am. I hope you all enjoy and hopefully find it inspiring or helpful in any type of way, and remember that there is always someone that loves you.
