In the sky
Lightning cracked
And touched my body near
It became alive
Throughout the black
Lighting up what was here
As thunder drummed
A melody
The pouring rain played
I listened
To the beating
Of the music that sang
To me alone
When I became
One with the storm
When it formed,
I felt something
That promised me a name
An identity
That was my own
Which I could never share
As eternity
Sang about home
That was mine to bear
