To suffocate in your tears,
To be suffocated and beaten by the unexplainable;
An extreme pressure that rules your nerves, called yearning;
The natural concept of heartache,
This is the most undesired state that is rooted to the most easily desired need.

The defeat builds up inside your mind,
You formulate comeback and reciprocation.
Courage is lacking,
The need is absent,
And silence ensues.

The unexplainable has a truth,
And the action that follows is this:
You are content in falsified hope,
You patiently befriend with contradiction,
You are simple by trying too hard,
You never know, after being told the end state…
This is a lie.

You are saddened by the front you naturally provoke.
Somehow there always seems to be more to you,
Every heartbreaking time.
Why are you not introduced into the relationship;
And the disappointing antagonist of your life takes the stage?

The final language is closely tangible.
The natural concept of your feeling is an art of physiology.
It contradicts all we live from all we know.

This is why we hope,
Why we act,
Face our fears,
Close our eyes,
Need touch,
Fill void,
Yearn.

I have so much love to give,
As the naturalness that exists in this feeling,
Simply dictates the driving force of satisfying,
What is naturally unavailable to us.

But I still try.
And this is why I know,
I am nearer to finding the natural,
Than you are.

The author's comments:
I'm an undergraduate student at the University of South Carolina, dealing with the same troubles most teens go through, specifically love and relationships. A recent love interest provoked me to write this poem. I wasn't feeling happy about the situation, and after having gotten my frustration down on paper, I've been able to move forward.
