A Guardian Child
A Guardian Child
She is my sister-
Just like the sun that rises in the morning,
Her smile can brighten the world.
So young, so new – and still to small
To even fit into a baby’s shoe.
She is my hero-
She is steel,
So strong and not wanting to break.
But yet – she is also fragile
Like a soft, sweet grape.
She is beautiful-
With her hair dark and flowing
Resembling a woman from the Victorian age.
Or perhaps like a glowing, red Mustang
At which people stare at in awe.
She is a fighter-
So happy – yet in so much pain.
Starting to turn white and starting to fade.
Being taken much too soon
While she was just a child crying.
She is gone-
She finally broke and slipped away,
So now she rests in peace.
But I see her throughout my daily life,
And the ocean speaks her name.
She is my strength-
In the lyrics of Butterfly Kisses,
Speaks the life she should have lived.
And now she looks down on me
To make sure I live that life instead.
She is beautiful, a fighter a hero-
She is my sister and my strength-
But she was taken, she is gone, and now-
She is my guardian.
