The Lake
The water dances all over my dazed face,
Splashing me with relief and solitude,
The sun welcomes me as I arrive
Upon the comforting arms of the lake.
The naked mountains trap me in,
As if they never want me to leave,
On the same wavelength as me,
This is my home.
Nostalgia takes over my mind,
Filling my soul and carrying it into my ancient memories,
The feeling of being at home,
Happiness floods my drifting body.
This lake is where my heart belongs,
Full of the entire joy one needs to last a lifetime,
Bittersweet maturity,
Here, stuck in my wandering thoughts,
I am free.
