Time could be eliminated.
Nothing ordered, nothing dated.
Without sequence, things still make sense.
No stagnant world as consequence.

Time is merely a façade.
Now, then last year, last decade.
Flashing backward still explains
Without time, meaning remains.

Time’s restrictions are collapsed,
Not a generation gap.
Tender feelings not withheld,
Differences in age are quelled.

This piece was inspired by the insignificance of time in Jennifer Egan's novel "A Visit from the Goon Squad."
