Solitary Confinement

Fireflies consume the sky, yet it’s hard for her to see.
Underline your every lie, because the truth always deceives.
What the world knows as light, darkness is what she perceives.
Skeptical of life, heartless as can be.

The wind continues to cry, but she’s immune to the breeze.
Numb from all the pain, cause the pain is all too deep.
She fades away to black, only to wake up from a dream
Juggling grenades, but her fate she cannot flee.

And only when alone, is she finally at peace
Because only when alone, is she finally at ease.
She closes her eyes, and begins counting to three..
No longer confined, and finally asleep.

Like birds heading south, all she wanted was to flee.
Hanging from a thread, but is finally free.
Through body mind and soul and everything in between.
No longer ALIVE, but can finally BREATHE.
