Understanding A Bully
No one knows how much it hurts
just having you around
Every day you try to depress me
and constantly bring me down.
I try to smile through the hurt
Although I seldom succeed
No one knows how I can smile
with your evil and your greed
With all the things you take from me,
trying to take the lead
relapse and remission, fatigue and pain pills too
no eyes can see, the merciless pain
you always put me through
Unfortunately you are invisible
like the meaning of this poem
But you are arthritis,
an ache deep in my bones
bullies aren’t just people
and now I hope you can see
That you can also be taken down a peg
by a chronic disease.
