Where Sleeping Mountains Lie

February 13, 2013

A quiet whisper blowing in the wind
Where the sleeping mountains lie,
Gentle clouds caress their face
Like a mother to her child,
Snow covers them with a blanket
To shield them from the cold,
And as the mourning comes
They continue to sleep
Waiting to finally wake.

Traveling through the mountains in Norway made me determined to write of their beauty. Just looking about the mountains gave me the inspiration for this poem.
