She walks with irritation.
The clock speaks commands to hasten.
The light fades, shade closes in.
The filth and dirt creases the floor.
Dust flows in silent rays,
papers and notes rustle with the ghosts of peers.
Their voices, lacking memory and words,
a static ambience is all to be heard.
The walls glower upon her,
with posters as eyes, and vents that whisper assuring silence.
She looks to the window,
her heart speaks to it like a magnet.
The trees, they lavish the view in green,
and submerge it in purple.
The darkening sky, calm and open like a vast doorway,
she steps through,
erasing all else.
She closes her mournful eyes,
as frantic red scribbles clutter her vision.
