Senseless Shootings and a Sorrowful Heart
Bang, bang, bang is what I hear in my head,
I still can’t believe that you’re dead.
Home with me is where you belong,
Oh why did he have to take you along?
Your smile and laughter was the light in our lives,
It was just too soon to say our goodbyes.
My life without you will be as empty as a baron lake,
Facing the years ahead without you makes my heart break.
The constitution gave him his rights,
But as your mom I will not let this go without a fight.
Columbine, Virginia Tech, Aurora, and Sandy Hook,
Innocent individuals’ lives that a gun took.
The Sixth Commandment is thou shalt not kill,
But without a gun he may have not come up that hill.
In our society guns have no place,
These things that do no good will keep me from seeing your beautiful face.
Stop gun violence before it’s too late,
Or the life I’m living could soon be your fate.
Treat everyday like it’s your last,
The time I had with my child just went by too fast.
What will it take for all this to end?
Abolish the gun laws and don’t pretend!
The tears that roll down my face,
aren’t just from me, but the whole human race.
