The Cycle of the Heart

People don't know how fragile it is until it breaks,
it takes only a couple small words to shatter it,
or a filthy rumor,
or some stupid picture.
It takes only the trust of a beloved friend
to be broken,
or the love of someone not to be returned.
It makes your world feel crazy,
like everything just got eaten up in one second.
A loud drumming, a painful aching, a calm, warm beating, a thrilling sensation.
That is the cycle of the heart.
