Stars
Stars speak
In two-letter words
Hi, Go, Do, Be.
Isn’t it silly?
We listen to them.
When others speak in their
Long, elliptical sentences
And constellation of words
I wonder why
We choose to ignore them.
I think it’s because
Most of the time
They don’t say what we want them to say.
And the rest of the time
They don’t say anything at all.
The fault is misplaced.
It must be somewhere.
Looking up into a blameless midnight sky
I believe
It lies distinctly in our stars.
