Walk with death
I walked next to a man, and asked him a favor.
With no life ahead of him, I asked him to take mine.
He pulled out a knife, asked if I was sure,
And with the gleam of his blade, limited my time.
He knelt next to me with regret in his eyes,
As I fell to the ground screaming,
But the pain was almost gone,
I screamed with relief of the last pain I’d feel in my life.
He knelt next to me,
And he asked me why,
“I couldn't do it myself,”
Was my reply.
“But please take this note
And put it by my side.
For it reads here my last few words.”
‘I tried, I tried, and I tried
but in all my life, I was never enough,
And in all this time, I can finally decide
That the cold world, would never suffice.
And here I say my final goodbye.’
And I lay there, with sirens in my ears,
And the cold world hugs me, with a deafening sigh.
