Worn Out Tee
There are monsters beneath my bed,
But I am not scared
I have his over-sized socks,
So my feet are not bare
His most worn sweatshirt,
Hanging down to my knees
Becomes my defense,
Too big for me
I wait until he comes home,
I swear not to flee,
I am safe, I am sheltered,
He will never leave
His worn out Tee
Guarding my heart,
Fending my demons,
I won’t fall apart
