If Walls Could Speak
Alone in this empty house-
The lights dimmed low-
My voice echoes against the walls
No reply forthcoming.
This solitude is nothing new.
This solitude is my friend.
This is how I prefer it to be.
No invaders
No intruders
No disrupters
No disputers
No one.
But me.
My tears and laughter go unheard
My fears and hatred go unseen
My grief and sorrow go unknown
My hopes and dreams remain unspoken.
These always present emotions just hidden behind a smile
That never seems to fade for long.
No one wants to see that side of me
Nor do I want it to be seen.
They are private, personal and potential weapons
If welded the right way.
And no way am I going through that nightmare
And getting hurt like that
One more
Time.
