Work like you don’t need money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one's watching. ¦ I like change - but only when everything stays the same.

Long summer days in the boiling sun,
Fairgrounds and cinemas never did bore,
Ice-creams with a flavor of happiness,
Every year coming back for more.

Or cold winter days in the Christmas break,
Dancing and singing to Christmas songs,
Wearing a Santa hat to make me smile,
These are the times I will always long.

Bowling greens with fresh grass,
Matches played and trophies won,
His awards still displayed with pride,
These are the memories that never come undone.

Blissful times in a different world,
Memories of happy days gone past,
But they will always remain with me,
The joyful truth that will forever last.

I wrote this poem for my Grandad who died on 29/01/2013 of complications after spending 2 months in hospital. He suffered from Alzheimer's, but was one of the most kind people you could ever meet, and great with children. This are the things that remind me of him (if you get confused about bowling, that's what he used to play when he retired), and I'm reading this poem out on the funeral on Valentine's Day, 2013. It may seem simple, but that's the effect. My life with him was simple; it was family love.

Endeavor. There is nothing greater, and nothing more dangerous, nothing safer, and nothing lesser than taking a step out the door, to endeavor.

AW! That's so sad :( I'm so sorry! It was an amazing poem, though, all the things he did. He'll never be forgotten though, remember that!
