Silent Anguish

Familiar memories are replayed,
Many as dark as a starless sky,
But love is about the ugly,
Where many secrets lie.
Pain is only a feeling,
One that is oh so short,
But love lasts forever,
My first and only resort.
Love is hard,
But it I can always endure,
It's twisted and cruel,
And each piece of me is torn.
It makes sense to me,
I can't shed any tears,
This is my only life,
And I have been living it for years.

This is basically a summary of the contradicting feeling of a woman who is caught in something that isn't good but is all she knows.
