the lady of the lake

She watches quietly from the depths,
her heart does not beat nor her lungs breathe air
Eyes like tears that haven’t been cried for years
Spring, Summer Winter, and Fall
It freezes, it melts and she with it
Calendar pages flutter like leafs
Her journey here so sorrowful
her heart which once beat
Deflated by loss
Instead of love,
there was a gun shot
He who says he loved awaits the fate she was given
So here she lies awaiting revenge
to pull him in with her overgrown talons
