I Don’t Know What I am Sitting On
I don’t know what I am sitting on.
It’s a cold elevated slab of concrete
With pine needles, cones, sticks, sand, rocks,
And a symbol on it.
I can’t tell you exactly what the symbol is
Because I think I’m looking at it upside down.
It may be a 9’3”, but honestly I have no idea.
I’m just thankful it’s here so that
My skirt isn’t getting a grass stain.
My momma would be happy about that.
And I’m thankful it’s flat so I don’t fall over and break my leg.
My coach would be happy about that.
And I’m thankful that its elevated so I don’t have to worry about snakes.
I would am happy about that.
Yes
I guess I am quite thankful
For this thing
That I don’t know what I am sitting on.
