Redemption
When you start to believe
You deserve nothing less than the worst
When the one person you have feelings to
Feels like he doesn’t deserve you
Yet he doesn’t know
He doesn’t know how you're brain picks up speed
How when everyone is focused on the sun
Yours is on the impending rain
And while the happy memories are reminisced
You're darkest thoughts are brought to life
He has this image of you where
Even if you can do no right
Doesn’t mean you do only wrong
Even if you don’t feel you deserve the title of being called smart
Doesn’t make you deserve the title of being called stupid
He believes that you're so shut off, so one-minded about showing your personality
Because the thought of getting hurt
The thought of loving and losing
Isn't worth the torturing of the journey
He believes that comical scathing comments meant to be funny
Really hurt you more than anyone can imagine
And he knows
He knows
Your smile is hardly real
And the craziness you try to show
The person you want people to know
Isn't the real deal
You know how twisted in the brain you feel
How messed everything would be if you ever said it out loud
It suddenly becomes crystal
He’s too good for you
He’s sweet nice understanding
All great qualities but
You have always felt as if
You deserve nothing less than the worst
Why try when you have nothing left to gain
He knows you will because
You have nothing left to lose
So what else is there?
You're changing, rearranging
Not sure if it’s for the better
His love is the infection
It multiplies grows
And it doesn’t stop when the hardened barrier tries to prevent
He’s doing something you haven’t done in a long time
True believing
And the cure for the madness
Is your redemption
