There once was a man named Clyde,
He stole from the poor but not the rich.
His heart was smaller than his pride
And his mind, more twisted than a witch.

One day, he met a tramp
And asked if he was poor.
The man said “Yes, I’m too poor for a hobo camp!”
And Clyde thought he could score.

Clyde planned and planned to swindle the fool
For “He’s a beggar, not much smarter than a mule!”
He believed his plan could not be beat
His pride burning at an all new heat.

He walked in to the street that night,
Not a fear or worry in his sight.
For he was the almighty Clyde!
A man fueled and brimming with pride!

He walked up to the vagabond,
And told him “Give me your pennies that you are so fond!”
The beggar stared at Clyde and began to laugh
For Clyde could not understand what was his gaffe.

“You fool, you imbecile, you buffoon!” said the man
“Can’t you hear what you have said?
You’ve asked a man who has nothing to pan
For pennies he could not have even plead!”

“You have no pride, you worthless wretch!
You cannot fathom kindness or dread!
Now leave before I further etch
Your true image in to your head!”

Clyde could not bear the loss of pride,
He wept like a soulless ghoul.
And now Clyde sits upon the street
And he is now the fool.
