blooming
Looking outside I see rain,
Dark, sad clouds cover the sky.
For a moment that sadness touches me.
But then I look, watch, search for the beauty.
The beauty that fills the earth with life.
How could something so little have such a huge impact on life?
All life.
As I take a step outside I notice that the trees are dancing,
Without the rain the earth would eventually wither away.
The rain not even beginning to recognize its power.
Doing only what it knows,
Falling to the earth.
And as it does the earth takes it in and replenishes the old with the new.
Something we all need every once in awhile.
To relive what’s been lived.
To relax and take a breather,
Only to start all over again.
But this time ready and waiting.
With your head held high and a smile on your face.
Yes that’s what I see when I look at rain.
Something so little changing the world as we know it.
For without it, we would be nothing.
But thanks is what I say to those sad dark clouds,
Because they are what release this gift.
The gift of life.
