Tears are Important
I once read a book
that was written by a dog
 and like all books
 that are written by dogs
 tears flow free

 They fall to the floor
 with a plink! plink! plink!
 small wet drops
 vaporized by the simple
 touch of a finger

 Tears serve a purpose
 to remind us that
 we hurt
 because without pain
 we die without warning

 Simple tears remind some
 to simply collect them
 for a rainy day
 and on those days
we can cry all we want

 Yet harsh tears
 scream out tirelessly
 until someone
 notices that
 they are in pain

 Tears are important
 because without them
 we would drown
 in our own misery
 drown without tears
