Letting Go
She sat next to him.
The cold bench kept her from standing and walking away from what was right.
The distance between them frightened her to the point of numbness, clinging to the cold words in her lungs.
The wet grass provided a ground for her sadness to seep into.
The thought pended in her soul, her forgiving heart begging the instinct in her gut to give him another chance.
Her head knew what her heart didn't.
She stood and bid a melancholy farewell to her regretful lover, her love for him hesitating, only for a short moment before letting go.
