Prison Bars
Race, Race, Racism, Racist
We all know him
We all do it
We all are him
Racism, ism, It’s a prism, prison
We all are captured in this room that looks like a cell, a prison cell.
With bars that are there but you cannot see them.
Divided into groups that separate us into races
Judged upon our language, actions, and skin color.
Racist, jokes being made in our faces, as if it was funny.
Let me tell you, It’s not funny when the shoe is on the other foot.
Race, Race, Racism, Racist
We all know him
We all do it
We all are him
He turns people against us, us,
There is no trust.
Racism, used as a weapon to hurt and kill us.
People chained and dehumanized because of this.
We don’t need to diss, we need to dismiss, the hate,
The accusations, and racism.
Race, Race, Racism, Racist
We all know him
We all do it
We all are him
The wounds are there but will we be able to heal
And move on? I ask myself every time, when will it all end?
