Now, here I am
but you're so far.
Don't you ever get tired of travelling in a broken car?
God, it has been years
but it sure feels like yesterday
When the spark in your eyes looked like it was never going to go away.
And all your dreams are haunting me now.
I will fulfill them all, but I still don't know how.
Sometimes I hear your laugh mixed with mine
and that other chair next to me is still empty when I dine.
I miss you,
but most of all I miss your heart.
And how you never left even when the times were dark.
"I swear, one day, I'll make it up,I'll make it good, I'll make it right."
Remember? You say that to me every time we fight.
Some of your words are still stuck in my head,
and the one "forever" often stops my breath.
If I knew then what I know now,
I would have never believed your vow.
But enough about me.
Let's talk about you.
How's it up in Heaven? Does it fit you?
I hope you're happy there and don't worry about me.
I still love you but it was never meant to be.

This is very personal. I wrote it for my best friend that died in a car crash. Her name was Anna.
