Winter
Winter is deadly, cold and dry,
So much so that someone might wonder why
On earth anyone could possibly think
That winter has beauty
Unless on an ice rink
Inside an arena where the wind doesn’t bite
Like a large scared dog howling in fright
Yet if you look closely it is easy to see
The beauty of winter, just look at a tree
With no leaves their branches are covered in white
Blisteringly cold from the snow
Ice reflects the glistening light
That warms you up from the cold
Enough so that into a ball you don’t have to fold
While some say they will die from the cold
And others love to sled and ski
I can say without a doubt
Winter sparks happiness in me
