View into the Void

The windows were wide and chirping with merry sounds
the view outside was a sight to see, worth many pounds
the lone tree stood tall and proud
but soon came the black in one great cloud
darkness swirled and the top of the tree turned black
the black spread to create a long crack
the tree splintered and rotted till it was near death
his eyes closed and ended with one last heaving breath
