Forest
High in the red wood trees, low in the rich soil
Oak leaves and redwood needles provide a blanket
To the cold earth
Soft frozen breezes shake the trees as they squeak
And tilt, bringing the sound of the ocean
Shade lingers over scattered flowers and clovers,
A stream trickles near by.
Deer crunch leaves as they bound between fallen branches,
And as the light falls, pinks and oranges flood the forest.
Crickets start to sing as raccoons start to move,
The trees still dance even when the breeze is gone
A forest dance, a dance for them all.
