My Regrets
Regret swarms around me,
Like a pack of vultures
After a plane crash in the desert.
I keep running to words through my head,
Did I make the right choice?
Was I wrong, or is it better this way?
We will never know,
But this haunting feeling will attack,
Always at moments of great success
Or great despair.
Knocking the smile off my face,
Or casting a darker shadow
Into my publicly isolated corner.
Regret is the Beast
To which there is no beauty.
No one to reverse the curse,
Rewrite time,
And fix the mistakes I've made.
