Trap in a cage
The Caged Bird is locked out of sight
He screams, but can't be heard
They think he is singing but, he is crying
Nobody comes
He gives up and looks outside the door at the trees and the other birds chirping
and singing the bangs and squeaks from other animals
He chirps, and squeaks
Like someone is strangling him to speak
Trap in that cage from birth to death with no
Chance to escape
He can't wait to open his wings
As wide as he can and stretch his soul
And be able to escape the same
Life since he was born.
The bird would like to soar up and not
Hit itself on the metal pieces that he calls prison
His cage hangs in the corner.
The rays from the sun and the darkness
From the night are his only companions
He waits for that special person,
That someone special that would open the cage
And he could get a chance to escape those four walls that have been
His only home, he will fly up to touch the sky and open his wings,
But until that day he has to stay in his so called home and see the days pass while he
Waits for a chance to change his life outside of that metal cage.
