How Do You Fall?
There is something—
Something big,
Something small
—That makes up everyone.
It divides us,
And it makes us one.
It gives us individuality,
And something we can be proud of,
Knowing that we are the only ones with that gift.
But there are some
Who think that our specific genius
Is not enough.
They will diss us,
Make fun of us,
And turn against us.
Others will follow their lead,
And we will feel alone.
They will push us down,
Push us down hard.
And the weak will crumble,
Scared and lonely.
But the strong will stay upright,
And will not bend.
They will right the weak,
And stand beside them.
Others may not be beside them,
But they will remember them.
And the weak and the strong are together,
Able to push back those who do not
Fully appreciate our certain genius.
Yet everyone falls,
Both the hero and the villain.
But the hero
Has the power to fall in love,
While the villain
Falls in love with power.
We have the power to choose.
How do you fall?
