this poem will not
ponder on the {jealousy}
{rage} and {despair}
that sometimes accompanies
{it}

this is not a
{grown up poem} a
{mature poem} and
maybe it’s a {serious
poem} but that
was an accident

this poem is not
about any of that
because {i am 15}
{you are 16}

instead this poem is
about {innocence}
{shy smiles} and how
your {dimples} make me
want to {live and die}
all at once

its about awkward
{flirting} eyes that {meet
and drop… and meet}
again and again

this is a poem about
{private conversations} that
make it feel like
{you and i} are alone
in {brackets separated}
from the world

this is not a
poem about {love}
its a poem about
{us}
