Technology Analysis at AT&T
At Work
Wade Taylor stared at the crack on the white iPhone 4S
Then looked back at the 17 year old in a blue Juicy jumpsuit
“So since it cracked it I can get the iPhone 5 right?”
Wade clicked the center button, the phone still worked fine
He printed out a bill for $600 and handed it to her
She smiled and handed him a credit card
He calmly finished her order and went to help another customer
His days at the AT&T store seemed more and more pointless
Everyday it was the same
Complainers blaming him for things that he had no control over
Trying to act like he cares and he’s sorry
When really he was counting down the hours, minutes,
And seconds until he can get home
The grey outside matched the grey in his face
In Transit
In his Honda CRV he turned on the radio
Friday was his favorite day
He was ready for the weekend
He turned up his rock station and sang along
The color returned to his face as a smile came along
He was cruising down the road going 5 over
The sky had cleared up and a peak of sunshine was showing
Some trees still had leaves on them
So hints of orange yellow and green brightened his drive
And when he pulled into his black driveway
He rushed inside to get started
At Home
Wade first fixed himself something to eat
A nice sandwich would hold him over for a while
He opened his white fridge, which was almost empty
He had just enough to satisfy him
And he wrote a note on a yellow pad to go shopping
Next he went to his home computer
He opened his camera program
He looked to see if anyone came around his house when he was gone
The tapes were clear
He headed to his laundry room
But then he lifted a silver bar
And pulled a gold handle
And a door opened
He headed to the cellar to a tech center
He had routers, multiple computers, and screens
He then began typing away
He will be there all night
Into the next morning
Typing, clicking, and analyzing
Continuing to threaten our national security
Hacking into our top secret government files
And trust me,
He’s almost there
