My Heart
My heart’s still here.
I can heart beating; feel the pulse at my neck
But yet, even though I know for sure
That my heart is still in my chest; I feel like it’s gone.
Disappeared
Left a deep, bleeding hole in my torso.
He took it.
The one I thought I loved
The one who said he would never hurt me
The one who said he loved me.
Did his heart leave him when he left me?
No.
He walks in the sun; he sleeps soundly at night.
He looks to claim another, clueless love struck victim.
He holds her like precious cargo
Like he held me.
He kisses her in the rain
The pouring rain
Like when we kissed in the rain.
Then it seemed to shower happiness
Now every drop
Every single drop on my skin is a jab in my mind, in my heart
Memories that took ages to forget come flooding back
Flooding like the rain on dusty, dry land
My heart’s still here
I can hear it beating: feel the pulse at my neck.
But it Broke
