The Cave of Ice
Come here and enter, child
To the place where fear lies waiting and wild.
The place where many dead call home
And trespassers’ tread crush their bones.
One step into the gaping dark
And hear the angels screaming, hark!
Another step and sink into mud
Made not with water, but with blood.
The acrid smell of decomposing flesh
Hits your senses with the wind’s breath.
Many have tried and failed before.
The thud of dead bodies hit the floor.
As you start to walk farther in,
Communication with the deceased begins.
Their cool fingers scrape your head,
Their icy tears from above remind you that they’re dead.
Are you frightened yet?
If so, run as far away as you can get.
But if you think that you are brave,
Journey on to find the treasures that you could save.
What difference do you think you can do?
Do you have the skills to make it through?
Then go on ahead, but it won’t be nice.
Enter, child, the Cave of Ice.
