My Key
In the first three seconds,
You stole it away,
Any possibility that being alone,
Would be okay.
Once I knew you,
I had to have it,
I had to be that piece in your puzzle,
That fit.
From your grin to your stare,
You stole my heart,
Before it was fair,
This all happened when you looked my way,
And in that moment,
My heart started to say,
She is, your other half.
There is nothing more contagious,
Than your laugh.
She will be how you fix yourself.
The girl that will keep you alive,
Your key to forever,
She’s how you survive.
It’s funny that your favorite word is fate,
Because if God had a plan,
I sure fell for his bait.
My Key to forever.
So I’ll put everything I have into this,
And pray my kiss,
Is something you’ll never dismiss.
I’ll put the fear on a shelf,
And just continue to tell myself,
That I know you’re my other half.
You’ve been in my life for over a year,
Yet those first three months still feel so near.
I want to thank you,
For who you are.
You have something inside of you,
That will take you so far.
