For angels to fly
i want to peel my skin off and step out of my regrets.
lend the torn morsels of my soul,
to the hearts i’ve broken and the lives I’ve stolen.
I want to pick out each blown-out vein and get rid of the filth caked deep inside my bones
I’m screaming for a sign
out of earshot from the all mighty father
begging for release
I face this world alone,
mistakes lying heavy on my shoulders and tears hanging heavy on my eyelids.
will I reach those pearly gates, find remorse when I have nothing left to take
but my own life?
