We swore we could talk the talk
and walk the walk
But when Obama got into office it seems like
we stopped walking and just started talkin’
madness

We're back trackin'
makin' our way back to the ways of the past
when blacks had to get back,
when the browns could hang around
when the whites were all that was right

Thanks to 9-11 we can't trust our own shadows
We hate but can't appreciate an entire culture
and the mosque suffers a blow to the followers
and is left at Zero

I said we're livin in a place that loves to hate
A place that loves the hate
But I ask again what is our fate?

We suffer from a time where we can’t talk but we gotta text
We suffer from a time where the internet lasts forever
and the cyber bully is immortalized

we suffer from a time of future generation deterioration
Where an achoo receives no bless you,
and we never utter the words thank you

Where a woman working just as hard as a man ,
can only receive 80 cents to the dollar of a man
because she has less testosterone and is prone to feeling the emotions
because she can be a mother and not a father.

So what are we sayin?
We're hating on the ones that raised us?
The ones that gave us life because they
are not man. They are not of history but of herstory.

I say we live in a nation of generation deterioration
where we love to hate and love the hate
Where we can text but can't talk straight

Real talk,
We can kill our brothas and suffer our sistas
and give our babies a gun and point the way to war

Genocide
We kill our own
destroy our home,
Mother Earth

We live in a place that loves to hate
a place that loves the hate and lives it like it's fate
But in the shadow of the wise words of Doctor King
I ask, Why can't we all just get along?
Is hate our fate?

We need an appreciation
not discrimination
or the future generation
suffers deterioration
