Dear A
A,
I was hurting, I was alone
I didn’t want to do it anymore
Life meant nothing
I knew people told me they cared, but to me they really didn’t
To me you were my only friend, the only one I could talk to
But I thought this was too much
I snapped
I stayed home, I went upstairs, I wrote the note
I didn’t think sending that text would mean I would survive; I didn’t think she’d save me
I just wanted to say goodbye
I took one hundred fifty pills so I would be sure to die
I don’t know if I’m happy to be alive
I know they say this is my second chance
But a second chance isn’t what I wanted
You can’t help me, no one can
Some things I’ll never be able to answer or explain
I hope you don’t hate me
As twisted as it seems I still love you and I always have
I know what this did to you
You’re one of the only ones that I have left…please don’t leave me
Cousin R
