Pushing Sixteen
Age fifteen
Never been kissed
Warm tears on her pillow
Too ugly to be missed
Hears the music from the bathroom stall
Waiting for the friend who is never there
Her own arms wrapped around her shoulders
Comforts herself; who else cares?
Lies in bed and thinks about the boy
Who never even said goodbye
Wills herself not to cry
Looks up at god
And wonders why
