The Jardinière
Earth is what ‘am fabricated of:
And a li’l of drench and blaze.
‘Am the small fucoided jardinière
Holds my elements’ exquisites,
Primrose, Chrysanthemum, Basil
Raised and bloomed o’er my heart;
Leafages greened and blanched,
But still beguiled all the kudos.
Me – who rendered and fed ‘em,
Protected ‘em day in, day out
And e’en sheltered their symbionts,
Remained an unheeded object.
Just desires for a day in future
When I’ll too be appreciated.
