"In God We Trust"
A coin.
A quarter.
Minted and dated in 1983,
Nickel slightly tarnished,
Slightly scratched,
But not just any quarter.
On heads, not simply the face of George Washington,
On heads is hard work.
On heads is pain.
On heads is vulnerability.
On heads is achievement.
On heads is success.
On tails, there is little resemblance to the eagle,
On tails is fun.
On tails is adrenaline.
On tails is a feeling of invincibility.
On tails is inborn talent.
On tails is passion.
On tails is a bird in the hand,
But on heads there are at least six birds in the bush.
A decision too tough for the mind,
A decision too important for chance.
Either result hard to comprehend,
Either choice easy to defend.
Too important for chance?
Why flip the coin?
Because the solution to the dilemma lay deep in ones subconscious,
Coming to sudden realization in the split second the coin is suspended in the air,
Suspended in time the choice becomes clear...
